A Birthday Adventure
Wow it’s been two months since my birthday and just now that I find time to blog my adventure I have an urge to sit with my laptop and do some typing.. I will get started with my adventure at Alabama Adventure. My friend Baging, treated me with a free passes to go with them and so we did with my son Kyle. It was my most unforgettable birthday moments- even myself could hardly comprehend. Well first of all I am scared of heights. But I wanted to prove to myself that I got over it. So I went for a “Acapulco drop” which has at least 54′ high. I was so eager to do but I am partly scared and yet I still do it. I kept my legs straight crossed and hands crossed on my chest and I held up my breath as long as I can and I felt like my inner organs are coming out after the crew pushed me down. It took about few seconds but it felt like it was a dragging moments and I was extremely anxious to reach to the flatten surface. My facial tissues were plopping due to the wind force and dropped to a 54′ high with slightly 90 degrees slide by yourself and there’s no way to stop but freely drop. My swim wear were all rolled up inappropriately while bunch of people expecting you to fall. They were by the slide when I landed. How embarrassing was that? But I was really proud of myself but I swore I wouldn’t and could’nt do it anymore!!!. Even the roller coaster scared me do death. Well the most favorite part that I definitely enjoyed and wanted to go there again was the Neptune’s Plunge, Kahuna Waves and the Warrior River. It was funny that the level of my satisfaction was same as my son well not exactly because he likes the roller coaster the most. It was soo much fun to wander around and eat. It was a delightful treat from Baging. Well this birthday adventure of mine was happened after the birthday surprise for me from my friends.
But sometimes surprises don’t turn out as good as some others had expected because of others commitments which I refer myself. That day my friends in Leeds had planned about it but I was already committed to babysit to somebody and I thought I’ll be thru earlier but unfortunately it didn’t happen. In short, the parents came home about 12 midnight. Meanwhile my friends who were planning this surprise party was still in contact and still insisting that we still going to have fun for we are going to have a “girls night out”. A girls night out!I Are they crazy? It was darn too late to go out there it was 12:30 am when I got to their house. Well I wasn’t surprise when I got there it has one car left and the rest of the group went home, perhaps because I didn’t show up on that time they had arranged for me to be there. But to honor my words I still showed up. Well the fact of the matter only one guest left, it was Joselyn with Kuya Shem and Lotlot playing “Tong-its” cards. Oh men! they were surprised that I showed up, they thought I can’t make it because it was too late for the night and too early in the morning. But to my surprise, they had prepared me a surprise birthday celebration that I literally ruined it. If I could have known I’ll probably make a lesser damage hehehe. But the essence of surprise was basically met for I was truthfully and meaningfully feel it. Lotlot had cooked yummy food which she always does and Kuya Shem had made me a personalized card with my unedited close-up photo of mine with sweet/nice messages from my friends who came. I was blown away for this was my first birthday surprise I have for being in the US.
In regards with the “girls night out” Jocelyn still persisted to go out to make it more meaningful and different and oh well went. I was so glad it wasn’t that far. As we got there more people were leaving in that place while we were coming in at 1:10 am in the morning and this place closes at 2. We got there and oh men! I was in a culture shock! I haven’t been to this place since I left Philippines. Back in the Davao we oftentimes go bar hopping with my circle of friends but with the rules we adhere “no alcoholic beverages” but mango , calamaris and dance all night. But that night I was culturally shocked or probably I am not used to it anymore. I can’t even move but to stand still with my purse on my shoulder and stare around and with “yikes” facial expression. As the seconder was ticking I felt at ease and loosen up a little bit and we started making our dance move because we have 40 minutes to utilize and have fun. And oh well it was a quiet unique 35 minutes dance with Joselyn and Lotlot.
I definitely had a great time and a very meaningful surprise party from Lotlot, Joselyn, Angie, Baging, Leila and Kuya Shem and to the rest. I made my husband worried a little bit coz he himself could not believe we went out that late. But I got home full of fun and still adhered the rule “no alcoholic beverages”. Well too bad we didn’t have calamaris but we burned some calories. Great to be with friends who knows how to have fun in a catchpenny way. Pssst we even got in for FREE!!! (photos will follow)
