This is my most awaited moment to get ready to send Kyle to BIG school. It has been a talk for while for Kyle’s biggest transition -to be in another school. He’s been in pre-school since he was a toddler and previliged enough to have some great friends at this school but when we started talking about him going to big school he didn’t like it at all. He just wanted to stayat Brookwood (present school). Brookwood offered Kindergarten but I opted to send him to a public school.
So one day we drove by to his school to be just to get a feel of it, when he saw it he became excited. He instantly claim it as his BIG school. Playground was fascinated him the most. We didn’t have time to take a peek of what’s inside since it was no school day when we came by. This school was actually recently built and it has pretty facade too. So today is the first day of enrollment for Kindergarten class. So I decided to came by to school today about 7:40 am hoping to pick up the enrollment packet although they provided online access for registration forms that you can just fill it out but unfortunately my printer is out of ink. But unfortunately they told me to come back at 12 which the enrollment schedule begins. So I went and took Kyle with me and I have to fill out 18 pages of paper pertaining to Kyle’s enrollment it was a lot!. While doing so one of the Kindergarten teachers asked me if she can borrow Kyle for a minute for some talk. It’s probably about 10 steps away from me I can hear Kyle answering her teacher. Then I’ve found out that they are having interview for the coming Kindergartners-COOL! Few minutes later Kyle was brought back by the teacher and she told me that Kyle did great!!! Kyle told me that he did a lot of answering in fact the teacher asked him to count and so he did but asked to stop because he’s fixing to count up to a hundred hehehe. I am so proud of Kyle!!! Their open house will be on August and we can’t wait to find out his new BIG school adventure…

Kyle just had his Spring Musical presentation at school. It was great lavished with unique- artistic display of arts with the BB-ECC pre-schooler. The program went great and Kyle did GREAT!!! We are so proud of him. This is his last year in pre-school and he’ll be in Kindergarten this coming year in fact his enrollment will be on Tuesday. Isn’t that amazing how fast they grow. It seems like he was just toddling then. He’s ready to be in big school - public school! He has grown so much and God blessed us with such a smart -energetic 5 year old. He can now read Beginner’s book by himself. He has some words that he can’t read it straight because it sounded different when the letters being put together. We are just to proud of him on how fast his motor skills have develop. He loves book so much even when he was just a baby. The first book he got interested in was the Thomas the tank engine book. Until now he still remember that I used to read it to him when he was a baby. Oh well enough for this bragging moment.
This week was great since my sis-n-law and bro-n-law in FL came over and spent some times with us. Kyle just loving it because he loves his Aunt Janne very much. Kyle never gone too far away from Janne’s side. Both of them have been glued to each other the moment Kyle came home from school hehehe even if Janne doesn’t feel too good yet she still manage to play and interact with Kyle every night. Right after his school Kyle is in a hurry to be back home just to see his Aunt Janne. It was April fools day that I played trick to him that Aunt Janne went back to Florida and boy Kyle was upset and so sad and keep blaming on me that I took too long to drive that we didn’t catch on them. He was really upset and was in a hurry to check Janne inside the house. Oh no-April fools day!
Before they leave they fixed Kyle a pre-Easter basket since they wpn’t be here on Easter Sunday. Kyle just loving it. Now the house is so quiet without them. We can’t wait to see them back soon… I took some video of them playing and singing together. I will try my very best to upload it as soon as I can.
Happy pre-Easter everyone….

“What a small world”, as the famous expression says. It has been almost five years since we saw each other. I am referring to my friend who I’ve known five years ago and we only met thrice. Most of our communications were through phone calls and emails since we live far away from each other. First meeting was when she was pregnant and Kyle was six months old. When we visited her and she was pregnant then. My friends in AlexanderCity in fact decided to give her a baby shower but never did realized because she went to an early labor and I didn’t even pay a visit to her because of the distance and I can’t drive then. I actually knew her through my friend’s friend who happens to be a friend of hers. Isn’t it confusing? But guess what everything has a reason.
Second meeting was during one of our friend’s house warning in (Wetumpka) and her daughter was two years old then. We called each other by our first names and married names never did get interested to know our maiden names for all we knew that we are Filipino and that’s what matters most. We keep up with each other once in awhile through hi-tech communications hehehe. But just recently for almost five years as a friend, we had found out that we have same last name “dela Pena” which is my last name when I was single meanwhile it’s her middle name before she got married. How amazing is that! It was then when I asked her to view our photos in Friendster so that she can view Kyle’s recent photos. Then she saw my full name as it appears on my profile page. She was shocked and surprised about my last name because we have same last names. I can’t believe it either.
God knows I was so excited when I found out that we are related!!! I definitely claim it that we are related! To where and how I would say “somehow” we are related. It would be more interesting to do genealogy research in order to find our roots. It was so cool. There was something about – a feeling of comfort when we get in touch with each other.
We finally met again few weeks ago in one of my friend’s house warming in Alexander City with her beautiful daughter Rachel wherein both of our siblings got along pretty well. I can’t wait to see them again…. We are not just only kababayan but we are indeed relatives!!! How cool is that…. It’s because of Friendster… “Close kami sa Friendster connect”.

Wow it’s been two months since my birthday and just now that I find time to blog my adventure I have an urge to sit with my laptop and do some typing.. I will get started with my adventure at Alabama Adventure. My friend Baging, treated me with a free passes to go with them and so we did with my son Kyle. It was my most unforgettable birthday moments- even myself could hardly comprehend. Well first of all I am scared of heights. But I wanted to prove to myself that I got over it. So I went for a “Acapulco drop” which has at least 54′ high. I was so eager to do but I am partly scared and yet I still do it. I kept my legs straight crossed and hands crossed on my chest and I held up my breath as long as I can and I felt like my inner organs are coming out after the crew pushed me down. It took about few seconds but it felt like it was a dragging moments and I was extremely anxious to reach to the flatten surface. My facial tissues were plopping due to the wind force and dropped to a 54′ high with slightly 90 degrees slide by yourself and there’s no way to stop but freely drop. My swim wear were all rolled up inappropriately while bunch of people expecting you to fall. They were by the slide when I landed. How embarrassing was that? But I was really proud of myself but I swore I wouldn’t and could’nt do it anymore!!!. Even the roller coaster scared me do death. Well the most favorite part that I definitely enjoyed and wanted to go there again was the Neptune’s Plunge, Kahuna Waves and the Warrior River. It was funny that the level of my satisfaction was same as my son well not exactly because he likes the roller coaster the most. It was soo much fun to wander around and eat. It was a delightful treat from Baging. Well this birthday adventure of mine was happened after the birthday surprise for me from my friends.
But sometimes surprises don’t turn out as good as some others had expected because of others commitments which I refer myself. That day my friends in Leeds had planned about it but I was already committed to babysit to somebody and I thought I’ll be thru earlier but unfortunately it didn’t happen. In short, the parents came home about 12 midnight. Meanwhile my friends who were planning this surprise party was still in contact and still insisting that we still going to have fun for we are going to have a “girls night out”. A girls night out!I Are they crazy? It was darn too late to go out there it was 12:30 am when I got to their house. Well I wasn’t surprise when I got there it has one car left and the rest of the group went home, perhaps because I didn’t show up on that time they had arranged for me to be there. But to honor my words I still showed up. Well the fact of the matter only one guest left, it was Joselyn with Kuya Shem and Lotlot playing “Tong-its” cards. Oh men! they were surprised that I showed up, they thought I can’t make it because it was too late for the night and too early in the morning. But to my surprise, they had prepared me a surprise birthday celebration that I literally ruined it. If I could have known I’ll probably make a lesser damage hehehe. But the essence of surprise was basically met for I was truthfully and meaningfully feel it. Lotlot had cooked yummy food which she always does and Kuya Shem had made me a personalized card with my unedited close-up photo of mine with sweet/nice messages from my friends who came. I was blown away for this was my first birthday surprise I have for being in the US.
In regards with the “girls night out” Jocelyn still persisted to go out to make it more meaningful and different and oh well went. I was so glad it wasn’t that far. As we got there more people were leaving in that place while we were coming in at 1:10 am in the morning and this place closes at 2. We got there and oh men! I was in a culture shock! I haven’t been to this place since I left Philippines. Back in the Davao we oftentimes go bar hopping with my circle of friends but with the rules we adhere “no alcoholic beverages” but mango , calamaris and dance all night. But that night I was culturally shocked or probably I am not used to it anymore. I can’t even move but to stand still with my purse on my shoulder and stare around and with “yikes” facial expression. As the seconder was ticking I felt at ease and loosen up a little bit and we started making our dance move because we have 40 minutes to utilize and have fun. And oh well it was a quiet unique 35 minutes dance with Joselyn and Lotlot.
I definitely had a great time and a very meaningful surprise party from Lotlot, Joselyn, Angie, Baging, Leila and Kuya Shem and to the rest. I made my husband worried a little bit coz he himself could not believe we went out that late. But I got home full of fun and still adhered the rule “no alcoholic beverages”. Well too bad we didn’t have calamaris but we burned some calories. Great to be with friends who knows how to have fun in a catchpenny way. Pssst we even got in for FREE!!! (photos will follow)

T.G.I.S. because I’m so anxious to see my cousin and my friend Shirley. They came to see us and have a day out together while our husband were  occupied with their fishing. Kyle was so anxious to see her Momma Jocelyn in fact Friday night was dragging him hard when he kept asking about Momma. When morning came he’d come check at the window to see if they’re already here and until they came. We explored the mall (Galleria) and ate lunch. I took Kyle to the Mary go Round for a ride and do some more exploring until we stuck at GAP and New York & Company. We had fun trying ‘em on as well as Kyle who was definitely keeping up with us. Right after the mall we went to the Filipino store and went back shop again on our way back home and ended we were so tired of looking good buys and keeping up with talkative Kyle. Kyle is a non-stop talker and he keeps himself from being bored and being entertained and likewise. When we got home we were hungry again and we had a feast with Shirley’ s yummy Escabeche (sweet and sour fish). It filled us up…. By the time they left for home my Kyle was completely exhausted and worn out and dozed off to sleep without bath and toothbrush. So I have to disrupt him for freshing up and then he fuzzed and won’t go back to sleep not unless his stories were being read so I did. It was a tiring but fun day out for all of us.

Our adorable tot is 3! He had a blast on his party at school with his beloved teachers and friends. I decided not to have a big party this year for him as part of our mourning just his friends at school and close family had joined us. My dear cousin Jocelyn and Jimmy didn’t make it since we had it on Friday right after from school. Glenn wasn’t feeling so good either that day but I managed to do some fixin’. I asked Kyle what he really wants to have? He replied at me as " I don’t want toy I have lots toy….I want Gooo Diego cake!" He is such a sweety. He is such a talker and pretty much stood out when he reasons at us. He is doing good on using the potty but I’m not quiet convinced yet when we go out to avoid hastle. We went to Walmart today to exchange the pull-ups that Glenn had bought ‘coz he bought a pink pull-ups when Kyle saw it he said "dat’s pink I’m not gurl, I want blue!". So I took it back and get the blue one!!! hehehe At 3 year old Kyle has gotten alot bigger and wise. He has favorite place to eat the "Logans Roadhouse" everytime we pass it he’d ask at me "Mom lets go eat.", I replied "I can’t I don’t have money." then he’d say "Oh you’re broke, Dad not broke." Huh Kyle would put me in an instant embarassment hehehehe.
Kyle’s Favorites:
Books : About the USA, Disney books, Dr. Seus, Sesame Street and Nemo
Sports : baseball
Football team: Auburn Tigers
Singer : Taylor Hicks (he recognizes Taylor’s voice)

TGIS!!! We’re so excited when Glenn decided to take us to Shelby county fair show. Huh right off from work I drove home and met my hunnybun. It has been awhile since I’ve been to one back in Pinas. Kyle was so excited about the fair I gave him the preview on what to expect and he was surely so excited. What he knew is he’s going to ride a horse- Mary Go Around, since we always let him ride at the mall. When we got there at the fair we were just in time to avail a convenient parking space and Kyle and I were just so overwhelmed than anything else. My hunnybun was more excited about the food hahaha. Then I took my camera out to start taking pictures. I took my first shot- Holly Molly! My cam turned dead it was completely lowbat! But still I managed to take pictures through my cellphone though not perfectly clear but still it’s visible. I was so anxious to ride those rides that I’d scream but Kyle can’t. I can’t take it to leave Kyle while I’m up there screaming and having fun. So I ended up riding with Kyle on Mary Go Around, Dizzy Dragon and Berry Go Round rides.I can’t ride to some of his rides ‘coz my height is over. His on demand rides are: Train depot (3x), 4 wheeler ride (2x), helicopter ride (2x). He had a blast you can see how excited and overwhelmed he was on those rides. Huh about food me and Kyle had hotdogs and Glenn had a giant Polish sausage and later we had a funnel cake yummmmmmy my favorite. We ate while watching the Elvis show. It was so much fun. On our way home Kyle was crying ‘coz he doesn’t want to leave. When we asked him if he had fun? He replied firmly- NO FUN! I go back, No home. heheheh Oh well he’s sound asleep right now. That’s all and have a wonderful weekend. For slideshow viewing please visit "http://www.bookofjona.bravejournal.com">

Surely I am in blog fever this weekend. I stood up late last night and in fact went to bed at 2:30 am. If I’m visualizing something just like what layout I’m going to do I can’t have my mind settle until I’ll put ‘em together. Probably I’m turning to a compulsive scrapper hehehe. But oh well this entry supposed to be done earlier but I’m so lazy to do it my mind was preoccupied about my job and with Kyle, as the matter of fact I went to bed ungroomed brushing my teeth-negative, still wearing my work clothes with jewelries on. I was in Kyle’s bedroom we were talking until unconsciously I fell asleep I believed. When I woke up it’s 3 am. But I got over now that’s why I’m fired up this weekend to do some updates on my journal. This scrap I made is all about my new hair cut. Not much difference to compare at but I feel a lot better and those tangling hair were all gone back to smoother and sleekier hair.lol http://bookofjona.bravehost.com/myPictures/haveitcut.jpg

Oops not mine! I have some in my belly but it’s positive-fats hehehe. I drove 45 minutes to be at my friend’s baby shower at 2 just me and Kyle since Glenn is gone fishing. My cousin Jo came so we’re so excited to see her. Love her. The baby shower went pretty good the hostesses did such a fabulous job though I haven’t meet them before only this time but we were welcomed with open arms. Cora is surely blessed to have friends like them. We’re so excited to see the presents I was in my wishful thinking moment then -what if I have a girl? But nah not in my wild imaginations yet. We had a nice shower for Cora plus I won the the first baby shower game -scrambling words! The most words you scrambled in due time you should win and I did. Yay I won hand soap liquid gel from Bath and Body Works.
Hirit pud ko…

On my birthday I got up early and went to work for our Professional Training Day. It was so much fun I have CPR classes on my birthday. I longed to take some courses about CPR and now it has been granted. It took about 2 hours to watch the video and apply it using a dummy giving compressions just made my hands hurt huh! It’s fun and very informative. The paramedics were surely so nice to us because we surely act silly and funny that’s why we are in "Red Hat Ladies Society" indeed! But on Thursday I have received lots of sweet treats from my friend Ms. Elvia she made me a Dutch Chocolate fudge cake. It was a yummy chocolatey. She knows pretty well what I like. Some of the parents gave me a giant cookie cake as they called it. It was definitely a sweet day for me hahaha and a lovely gorgeous flower. On the day of my birthday I met Janne my sister-n-law and she gave me a sweet nice looking card and some of my favorites stuff. Love her so much. Right after Glenn took me for dinner. He asked me first but he was disappointed the place I had chose. So he decided to take me to Macaroni Grill an Italian restaurant. I have Chicken Cannalloni, Kyle had chicken tenders and Glenn had seared scallops with a yummy ever favorite appetizer-Calamari! We were full!!!! About my presents I surely convinced my honeybun to give me a cash. I have it now… I can’t wait to go shopping tomorrow hehehe that’s why until now I can’t sleep that’s why I typed this entry at midnight due to my anxiousness. But my celebration is not quite over yet my friends in Alexander City where we used to live had planned to have a combined party on Sunday so it’s going to be exciting weekend. It would be a busy weekend. To all who greeted me DAGHANG SALAMAT!I created my own 29th scrap image these photos taken on my birthday Sept 1st.
